Role of an Illustrator
The role of an Illustrator involves:
- Develop narrative art suitable for various age groups that enhances literacy curriculum by utilizing illustrated characters and storytelling.
- Work closely with the art director to understand the specifications for art and create illustrations from initial sketch to final vector art.
- Adhere to existing visual style guidelines and have the ability to work with a range of different styles.
- Communicate ideas and creative solutions both visually and verbally.
- Continuously improve and refine final products by seeking feedback from stakeholders and other designers.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements for an Illustrator:
- A Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts, design, illustration, communications, or a related field is required
- Must have at least 3 years of experience in illustration
- Proficient in using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Illustrator
- Skilled in producing quick sketches and thumbnails for evaluation and critique
- Experienced in creating detailed and visually appealing vector art illustrations
- Capable of adhering to style guides and adapting to various illustration styles
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong visual and conceptual skills for problem-solving and innovative solutions.
Qualifications

Remuneration:
The salary range for this position falls between $45.00 to $50.00 per hour.
